Today at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked Event, the company announced New flagship smartphones: the Galaxy Note 7
Both devices will launch in the U.S. on August 19 st, with preorders set to kick off today. Here’s the highlights for the Note 7, which is available for pre-order Aug. 3 and goes on sale Aug. 19 through all the major carriers, including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon and U.S. Cellular.

The biggest highlight of the Galaxy Note 7 is its iris scanner, and it is the first smartphone from Samsung with such a feature. Much like previous Galaxy Note phones, the Galaxy Note 7 features the S Pen stylus.
The Galaxy Note 7 screen is also worth writing home about. This is what Samsung is calling the first “Mobile HDR-ready” display, which is four times the definition of standard HD - otherwise known as 2K - at 2560x512 pixels.
