After a recent unveiling of a new smartphone, and their first ever laptop, Xiaomi is now gearing up to release another completely new device, this time a virtual reality (VR) headset.
The company's General Manager Tang Mu has reportedly confirmed that Xiaomi is working on a virtual reality headset that will be compatible with Google's Daydream VR platform.
The pricing of the headset is yet to be announced, but Mu said he thinks that this is the best way to provide a VR experience which is optimised for MIUI users
Google’s Daydream when launched, is not expected to work on any of the current generations smartphones available in the market. So far Huawei is the only company who has announced that it will be launching a Daydream VR capable smartphone by the end of 2016
According to Android Headlines, the headset is set to debut on August 1. Mu believes that none of the existing VR headsets for smartphones are fully tuned to MIUI
Xiaomi recently introduced its first laptop - Mi Notebook Air. Running Windows 10, the Mi Notebook Air is available in two screen sizes - 13.3 inch and 12.5 inch, featuring an all metal body and finally forayed into the category that it was long expected to.
