Google today launched Google Allo, the instant messaging app from the search giant power by the new Google Assistant,, a messaging app for Android and iOS with Smart Reply . You can download Allo from Google Play and Apple’s App Store,
You don’t need a Google account to sign up – just enter your phone number and you’re good to go. Bear in mind that, like other messaging services including WhatsApp.
Google Assistant comes in two forms. The first form is a one-on-one chat in which you can request information from Google's services, similar to Google Now. Users can find out sports scores, the weather, search for restaurants, check travel time or flight status, and more.
The process of setting up Allo is very similar to that of setting up WhatsApp. For example, Allo is linked to your phone number, which means you can also use it to send text messages to anyone in your phone book, irrespective of whether or not they are using the Allo app
Google Allo and Assistant were first announced alongside the company’s video chat app Duo at the I/O developer’s conference in May and have been released ahead of the expected launch of new Google own-brand smartphones on 4 October.
