Apple is expected to update its new 15-inch MacBook Pro with Kaby Lake architecture and 32GB of desktop RAM later this year, according to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Apple is reportedly planning to release an updated MacBook (12-inch) and MacBook Pro (13-inch & 15-inch) towards the end of the year that shall feature Intel’s next-generation Kaby Lake processor, with Apple’s 15-inch MacBook Pro exclusively gaining a new 32GB RAM configuration.
Ming-Chi Kuo’s report suggests Apple’s 13-inch MacBook Pro without Touch Bar is performing worse than Apple had expected, with the company considering a price cut later in the year to try and improve shipments.
Kuo added that new entry-level 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pros will enter production in early third quarter with Kaby Lake processors. Intel unveiled the new processors at CES 2017 in January, and are believed to make the laptops more power efficient
Beyond the high-end 15-inch model, Kuo expects Apple to start production of new 13- and 15-inch MacBook Pros in the third quarter of 2017.
