Apple now lets you buy extended warranty coverage for your iPhone up to 12 months after your device purchase, This is a hefty update to the previous 60 day timeframe limit.
Although the change has yet to be reflected on the company's website, MacRumors confirmed the new policy with a senior AppleCare advisor.
iPad, iPod touch and Apple Watch still have the 60 day period for purchasing AppleCare+. But this change to up to one year for iPhone means the latter is now in line with Mac and Apple TV for AppleCare+.
AppleCare+ for iPhone costs $129 in the U.S and provides up to two years of expert telephone technical support and hardware coverage, including up to two incidents of accidental damage, each subject to an excess fee of $29 for screen damage, or $99 for any other damage.
